VigiMac is a free tool to track your Mac on the Net if it has been stolen.
VigiMac is not intrusive and uses very low bandwidth.
Once the script is installed and your Mac is registered, it is possible to know its location in case of theft (if it can connect on the Net and if you follow our few advices).
Every three minutes, your Mac will call our server.
In case of theft, send us an email and we will start recording any sign sent by your Mac to provide the police the Internet address of your thief.
You can also track it yourself.
Install it, register your Mac, and forget it.
If you experience any problem, contact us : contact <at> vigimac.com or read the FAQ.

Installing VigiMac looks like a piece of cake but it’s only the first step to protect your Mac.
To complete the process, you need to register your Mac in the VigiMac database, so we can recognize it if it has been stolen.
Don’t forget to read our hints to improve your Mac protection.
>> Proceed to registration of your Mac
To optimize the protection for your Mac,
- it is really important to use a firmware password to avoid your Mac to be reinstalled or your hard disk to be formated.
- you should let an accessible session for the thief (guest account or automatic session). It will give more chance for your Mac to send us signs of activities over the Internet.
- protect your user account by a password, even simple, but never leave it blank.
- avoid revealing the presence of VigiMac on your computer.
In case of theft, change as quickly as possible all your passwords, especially the one you’ll use to contact us by email…
OK, your Mac is now well protected but you’d like to check the installation or declare a stolen Mac.
